On July 28, 2023, on the 1035th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus-Ukraine and the Day of Remembrance of the Holy and Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Volodymyr the Great, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine led the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. The Primate of the autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church was concelebrated by the hierarchs and clergy of the OCU from all over Ukraine, as well as the Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarch in Ukraine, Bishop Michael of Comana.
During the service, Metropolitan Epifanius offered a special prayer to the Lord at a time when the Motherland is in danger. Prayer requests were also made for the soldiers who defend Ukraine, for the government and our people, and for the repose of the souls of all the fallen defenders of the Motherland and civilians.
Metropolitan Yevstratiy of Bila Tserkva delivered the sermon during the Liturgy.
At the end of the service, His Beatitude delivered the Primatial Epistle on the occasion of the 1035th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus-Ukraine.
