On 4 August 2023, on the feast day of St Mary Magdalene, Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the church dedicated to this saint in the village of Chernivtsi, Mohyliv-Podilskyi district. His Eminence was concelebrated by clergy of the Vinnytsia-Bar, Vinnytsia-Tulchyn and Chernivtsi-Khotyn dioceses. A local choir and a choir from Vinnytsia sang during the Liturgy.
Metropolitan Symeon said a prayer for Ukraine and the victory of the Ukrainian army. Prayer requests for the parishioners and benefactors of the church were also read. At the end of the Liturgy, a festive prayer service to St Mary Magdalene was held, after which Metropolitan Symeon sprinkled the parishioners and guests with holy water.
At the end of the service, His Eminence addressed the clergy and laity with an archpastoral sermon. Metropolitan Simeon also congratulated the rector, Archpriest Pavel Podyuchenko, and his parishioners on the Patronal Feast and wished them God's help and further success. After the warm words of congratulations, the Archpastor awarded the benefactors of the parish with diplomas. Archpriest Pavel Podyuchenko, in turn, thanked Metropolitan Symeon for his archpastoral visit and prayers.
