On 31 August 2023, on the eve of the Feast of the Council of Vinnytsia Saints, the Ecclesiastical New Year and the memory of St Symeon the Pillar, a solemn vigil with a litany was held at the Transfiguration Cathedral of Vinnytsia.
The festive vespers was led by Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar, concelebrated by Metropolitan Oleksandr of Pereyaslav and Vyshneve, Archbishop Volodymyr of Zhytomyr and Polissia, Bishop Paisius of Zhytomyr and Ovruch, Bishop Anthony of Chernihiv and Nizhyn, and clergy of the Vinnytsia-Bar Diocese.
After the polyeleos with the singing of glorification before the icons of the Council of Vinnytsia Saints and St Symeon, the Archpastor congratulated the priests and faithful on the upcoming holiday and anointed the parishioners with holy oil.
At the end of the vigil, Metropolitan Symeon was greeted on his Name Day and presented with a bouquet of flowers by the former head of the Vinnytsia Regional Administration (2015-2019), Valeriy Koroviy.
