On 9 September 2023, on the feast day of Saints Joachim and Anna and St Theodosius, Archbishop of Chernihiv, Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Transfiguration Cathedral in Vinnytsia. The Archpastor was concelebrated by the clergy of the cathedral. During the service, a prayer was offered for the Victory of Ukraine.
According to the decision of the Holy Synod of the OCU, 9 September is the Day of Prayer for the Family. Therefore, after the Liturgy, Metropolitan Symeon, in concelebration with the clergy, held a prayer service for Ukrainian families.
Also, on the occasion of the 660th anniversary of Vinnytsia, prayers were offered for the city, its residents and local authorities.
After the prayer, the Archpastor addressed the parishioners with a sermon in which he stressed the importance of observing Christian virtues in family life and child-rearing. Metropolitan Symeon also congratulated the residents of Vinnytsia on the City Day and wished them prosperity and God's help.
