New Antimensions for the churches of the Vinnytsia-Bar Diocese consecrated

On October 18, 2023, before the beginning of the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar consecrated new Antimensions for the churches of the Vinnytsia-Bar Diocese. The Metropolitan was concelebrated by Archpriest Vitaliy Holoskevych, Archpriest Dymytriy Pylyn, and Protodeacon Vladyslav Demchenko.

The antimension (from the Greek "that which is instead of a throne") is a rectangular board with special images of Christ being laid in the tomb (which believers can see on the Shroud). The Antimension is consecrated and signed by the bishop and has a small sewn pocket where the relics of the holy martyrs are placed.
