On 7 November 2023, a regular meeting of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Orthodox Church of Ukraine) was held in the Synodal Hall of the Metropolitan's House at St Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral under the presidency of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine. The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod, Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar.
The Holy Synod heard and took note of the report of His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius on his visit to the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and also considered a number of issues, including the dismissal from the administration of the diocese and retirement for age and health reasons of His Eminence Danylo, Metropolitan of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna, the election of Archimandrite Arseniy (Pozharny), abbot of the St. Mykola Monastery in Bohuslav. to Bishop of Bohuslav, Vicar of the Kyiv Diocese, the opening of a monastery in the Chernivtsi-Kitsman Diocese and two monasteries in the Khmelnytsky Diocese, and the adoption of necessary decisions on organisational issues regarding some parishes in the Cherkasy region.
