On March 25, 2024, the Convent of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos in Vinnytsia celebrated its Patronal Feast. Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar celebrated the festive Liturgy in the newly built summer church of the convent. His Eminence was concelebrated by the clergy of the Transfiguration Cathedral: Archimandrite Sofroniy (Chupryna), Archpriest Dymytriy Pylyn and Archdeacon Vladyslav Demchenko.
Before the Liturgy, Metropolitan Symeon read prayers for the consecration of the church, which was named in honor of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos. During the Liturgy, prayers were offered for Ukraine and Ukrainian soldiers who are defending their Homeland. Special prayer requests were made for the founders of the church, benefactors and builders, whose efforts helped to construct the church building in a short time. After the Liturgy, a cross procession was held around the church and a thanksgiving prayer service was held.
Metropolitan Symeon congratulated Abbess Elikonyda (Voevoda), the sisters and parishioners of the monastery on the holiday. "By the will of God, with the blessing of the Mother of God, through the efforts of Mother Abbess and benefactors and parishioners, a new church has appeared in the Annunciation Monastery. May it always be filled with people and may the prayers of these people be heard by God and the Most Holy Theotokos, in whose honor it is consecrated," the Archpastor wished.
In his welcoming remarks, Metropolitan Symeon noted not only those who, under the leadership of Mother Abbess, worked to build the church, but also expressed gratitude to Archimandrite Sofroniy, who from the very beginning spiritually cared for the monastery and provided pastoral support to the sisters and parishioners. Finally, the Metropolitan awarded the benefactors of the monastery with diocesan awards, and handed over the Gospel to Abbess Elikonida for use during services in the new church.
