On May 5, 2024, Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar celebrated Easter Matins and the Divine Liturgy at the Transfiguration Cathedral. Due to the curfew, the festive prayer was held behind closed doors with a limited number of parishioners. Despite this, the service was solemn and joyful.
During the festive service, prayers were offered for the Ukrainian army, victory over the enemy and a just peace for Ukraine.
At the end of the service, Metropolitan Symeon blessed the artos and congratulated those present in the church on the bright holiday of Christ's Resurrection.
On the morning of May 5, the Transfiguration Cathedral will also hold an Easter service, which will be open to everyone. The doors of the church will be open throughout the day. At 16:00, Metropolitan Symeon will celebrate a festive Vespers in the Cathedral. Throughout the day, the priests will bless Easter dishes, as they do every year.
On Saturday, the eve of Easter, thousands of Vinnytsia residents and IDPs came to the Cathedral to bless Easter baskets and hear prayers and greetings on the occasion of the Resurrection of Christ from the clergy of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
