On August 1, 2024, on the feast of the Procession of the Honorable Wood of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord and the Day of the Holy Martyrs Maccabean, a festive service was held at the Transfiguration Cathedral of Vinnytsia. The Divine Liturgy was led by Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar, concelebrated by the cathedral priests. During the service, prayers were offered for the victory of the Ukrainian army.
During the Liturgy, Metropolitan Symeon ordained a cleric of the Diocese, Deacon Vasyl Stempen, to the priesthood.
At the end of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Symeon performed a water blessing prayer service and read prayers for the consecration of herbs and honey. Traditionally, together with the clergy, the Archpastor sprinkled holy water on the faithful who came to the Cathedral that day to pray and ask for God's blessing, as well as on the honey, flowers and herbs they brought.
