His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy led the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Holy Borys and Hlib of Vyshhorod, whose community joined the OCU last year. This was reported by the official website of the OCU.
His Beatitude was concelebrated by Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar, Metropolitan Yevstratiy of Bila Tserkva, Archbishop Lavrentiy of Luhansk and Starobilsk, Archbishop Volodymyr of Zhytomyr and Polissya, and Archbishop Agapit of Vyshhorod, the diocesan Bishop, Archbishop Pavlo of Khmelnytsky and Shepetivka, Bishop Anthony of Chernihiv and Nizhyn, Bishop Ephraim of Vasylkiv, Bishop Arseniy of Bohuslav, Bishop Avraham of Boryspil, the Rector of the church, Archpriest Vitaliy Klos, and the invited clergy.
After reading the Gospel, His Beatitude delivered the first sermon and offered a special prayer to the Lord at a time when the Motherland is in danger.
Also during the service, prayer requests were made for the soldiers defending Ukraine, for the government and our people, and for the repose of the souls of all the fallen defenders of the Motherland and civilians who died during the war.
At the end of the service, Metropolitan Epifaniy once again addressed the audience, congratulated the chaplains on the recent holiday - the Day of the Military Chaplain and awarded the benefactors with church awards. In addition, His Beatitude presented the church with a cross and a new edition of the liturgical Gospel, and the Rector with a personalized epitaph.
In his turn, Archbishop Agapit thanked the Primate, hierarchs and clergy for the inspired joint prayer and presented His Beatitude with a panagia depicting the Vyshhorod Icon of the Mother of God.
