On November 30, 2024, on the day of remembrance of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine led the Divine Liturgy at St. Theodosius Stavropegial Monastery in Kyiv. This is reported by the official website of the OCU.
The Primate of the autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church was concelebrated by Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar, Metropolitan Yevstratiy of Bila Tserkva, Archbishop Lavrentiy of Luhansk and Starobilsk, Bishop Efrem of Vasylkiv, the Abbott of the monastery, Archimandrite Makariy, the monastery brethren and invited clergy.
After reading the Gospel, His Beatitude delivered a sermon and offered a special prayer to the Lord at a time when the Motherland is in danger.
During the Divine Liturgy, prayer requests were also made for the soldiers who are defending Ukraine, for the government and our people, and for the repose of the souls of all the fallen defenders of the Motherland and civilians.
At the end of the Liturgy, a prayer service to St. Andrew the First-Called Apostle was held, after which Metropolitan Epifaniy once again addressed the audience and congratulated Archbishop Lavrentiy on the 20th anniversary of his ordination as a bishop and his 65th birthday. The Primate awarded Bishop Lavrentiy with the Order of St. Nicholas and presented him with a commemorative panagia.
The service ended with a solemn perennial.
