On September 22, 2024, on the 13th Sunday after Pentecost, Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Transfiguration Cathedral in Vinnytsia. His Eminence was concelebrated by Archpriest Vitaliy Goloskevych, Archimandrite Sofroniy (Chupryna), Archpriest John Drozd, Archpriest Vasyl Korovai, Archdeacon Vladyslav Demchenko and Archdeacon Serhiy Boyarsky. During the service, a prayer was offered for Ukraine's victory over the Russian occupiers.
After the Liturgy, the Metropolitan addressed the faithful with words of spiritual guidance. Also, with the blessing of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, Metropolitan Symeon presented a medal “For Sacrifice and Love for Ukraine” to Mykola Govorushchak, a regular parishioner of the Cathedral and former head of the Vinnytsia Higher Vocational School of the Lviv State University of Life Safety, on the occasion of the Day of the Savior, which was celebrated on September 17. The Archpastor noted that Mykola Hovorushchak had devoted more than forty years of his life to his profession and the education of many thousands of rescuers who, in all difficult situations, and especially now, in times of war, help people and save their lives.
On the same day, the Early Liturgy was celebrated in the cathedral by Archpriest Dymytriy Pylyn, Priest Antonin Melnyk and Deacon Yuriy Glushchuk.
