On July 14, 2023, a memorial service was held at the Transfiguration Cathedral in Vinnytsia for those who died as a result of a missile attack on the city by the russian occupiers a year ago. The memorial service was performed by Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar in concelebration with the clergy of the cathedral and military chaplains.
The names of 29 innocent civilians killed in Vinnytsia, including three children, were mentioned in the prayer offered by the Metropolitan and priests that day. They also remembered in prayer all the civilians of Ukraine who died as a result of russian terror and genocide against the Ukrainian people, as well as all the soldiers-defenders who gave their lives for the Motherland.
On this day, a Day of Mourning was declared in Vinnytsia to mourn the victims of the enemy missile attack. The national flags of Ukraine were at half-mast throughout the city. The national flag with a black ribbon was also at half-mast at the Transfiguration Cathedral in Vinnytsia.
It should be reminded that exactly one year ago, the russian occupiers hit Vinnytsia with two Kalibr missiles. As a result of the enemy shelling, the building of the Officers' House was destroyed, the medical center burned to the ground, and about fifty cars were destroyed and damaged. The enemy missiles killed 29 people, including three children. More than 200 people were injured.
