Metropolitan Symeon celebrates the Liturgy and the Rite of the Washing of Feet on Holy Thursday
On April 17, 2025, on Holy Thursday, Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar, together with the clergy, celebrated Vespers with the Liturgy of St. Basil the Great at the Transfiguration Cathedral of Vinnytsia.
Befor the communion, Metropolitan Symeon delivered a sermon in which His Eminence spoke about the Gospel events commemorated on Holy Thursday and the Sacrament of the Eucharist (Communion) instituted by Christ on this day.
After the Liturgy, the rite of the Washing of the Feet was performed. Metropolitan Symeon, in the image of Christ, who washed the feet of His disciples in the Upper Room of Sion during the Last Supper, washed the feet of twelve priests as a sign of humility. At the end of the service, Metropolitan Symeon congratulated the faithful on the Holy Communion.
