On February 2, 2025, on the feast of the Presentation of Our Lord Jesus Christ, one of the twelve greatest feasts, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine led the Divine Liturgy in the Refectory Church of Saints Anthony and Theodosius of the Pechersk on the territory of the Upper Lavra. The Holy Archimandrite of the Holy Dormition Kyiv Cave Monastery was concelebrated by Metropolitan Makariy of Lviv, Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar, Metropolitan Andriy of Halych, Metropolitan Volodymyr of Mykolaiv and Epiphany, Metropolitan Joasaph of Ivano-Frankivsk and Halych, Metropolitan Dymytriy of Lviv and Sokal, Metropolitan Clement of Simferopol and Crimea, Metropolitan Nestor of Ternopil and Kremenets, Metropolitan Symeon of Dnipro and Sicheslav, Archbishop Lavrentiy of Luhansk and Starobilsk, Archbishop Herman of Kamianets-Podilskyi and Novoushytskyi, Archbishop Agapit of Vyshhorod, Archbishop Mytrofan of Kharkiv and Slobozhanskyi, Archbishop Pavlo of Khmelnytsky and Shepetivka, Bishop Cyril of Uzhhorod and Khust, Bishop Pavlo of Kolomyia, Bishop Theognost of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna, Bishop Avrahamiy of Boryspil, and numerous invited clergy.
After reading the Gospel, the Primate of the local Ukrainian Orthodox Church addressed the faithful with a sermon and offered a special prayer to the Lord at a time when the Motherland is in danger.
The service also included prayer requests for the soldiers who are defending Ukraine, for the government and our people, and for the repose of the souls of all the fallen defenders of the Motherland and civilians.
At the end of the festive service, His Beatitude blessed candles and sprinkled the faithful with consecrated water.
