On October 26, 2024, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine led a prayer service in the Church of St. Amphilochius of Pochayiv in Uzhhorod to invoke the help of the Holy Spirit before starting every good deed. This is reported by the official website of the OCU.
During the service, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine was concelebrated by Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar, Metropolitan Yevstratiy of Bila Tserkva, Bishop Kirill of Uzhhorod and Khust, Bishop Varsonofiy of Uzhhorod and Zakarpattia, chaplains, clergy of the Zakarpattia and Mukachevo-Carpathian dioceses.
At the end of the service, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy addressed the faithful with a sermon.
"We ask that the Lord continue to help and assist us, and give us what we expect and ask for most of all now - the victory of Ukraine over the aggressor, over the country that broke into our common home in order to enslave and destroy us. But we ask God for support and help, so we will certainly achieve what we ask for," said Metropolitan Epifaniy.
The Primate also expressed his gratitude to Bishop Varsonofiy and presented him with a panagia and the liturgical Gospel, as well as awarded the defenders of the Motherland, volunteers and faithful with high church awards.
In addition, Metropolitan Epifaniy inspected the progress of the construction of the Cathedral and the diocesan administration.
