Metropolitan Symeon led the Divine Liturgy in the monastery of St. Nektary of the Pereyaslav-Vyshneve Diocese of the OCU

On August 20, 2022, on the second day of the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the monastery of St. Nektarios of the Pereyaslav-Vyshneve Diocese of the OCU. The Liturgy, which was held in the open air next to the church, was presided by Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar in conjunction with hierarchs: Metropolitan Oleksandr of Pereyaslav and Vyshneve, and Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarch in Ukraine Bishop Mykhailo of Komany, also the brethren of the monastery, as well as the guests with holy orders

During the Liturgy, the prayers for the victory of Ukraine and for the peace of the souls of all fallen defenders of Ukraine and civilians were offered.

After the Divine Liturgy and a cross procession around the church, according to tradition, new harvest grapes, apples, pears and other fruits were consecrated.

Metropolitan Symeon congratulated all present on the Feast and thanked Metropolitan Oleksandr for the invitation. In memory of the event and a joint prayer, Metropolitan Oleksandr presented Metropolitan Symeon and Bishop Mуkhail with icons of Saint John the Chrysostom with pieces of his holy relics.

The Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord is a warm temple of the monastery of St. Nektarios of Aegina. It was built in 2014-2015 on the initiative of Metropolitan Oleksandr of Pereyaslav and Vyshneve in memory of his spiritual mentor, His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Volodymyr (Sabodan; +2014).
