Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar celebrates Easter service on Easter night
On April 20, 2025, Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar celebrated Easter matins and the Divine Liturgy at the Transfiguration Cathedral. Due to the curfew, the festive prayer was held behind closed doors with the participation of a limited number of parishioners. Despite this, the service was solemn and joyful. His Eminence was concelebrated by Archpriest Ioan Drozd, Archpriest Vasyl Korovai, Archpriest Dimitriy Pylyn, Protodeacon Serhiy Boyarsky and Deacon Volodymyr Andrienko.
During the festive service, prayers were offered for Ukraine and its army.
At the end of the service, Metropolitan Symeon consecrated the artos and greeted those present in the church on the Holy Feast of Christ's Resurrection.
On the morning of April 20, the Transfiguration Cathedral will also hold an Easter service, which will be open to all. The doors of the church will be open throughout the day. At 4 p.m., Metropolitan Symeon will celebrate a festive Vespers in the Cathedral. Throughout the day, priests will bless Easter dishes, as they do every year.
On Saturday, Easter Eve, thousands of Vinnytsia residents came to the Cathedral to bless Easter baskets and hear the clergy of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine say a prayer and greetings on the occasion of the Resurrection of Christ.
