On 7 September 2023, on the feast day of the Icon of the Mother of God " Vinnytska" (" Vinnitsko-Rozhetska ") and the day of the memory of the Venerable Martyr Makariy of Kaniv, Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar and Bishop Anthony of Chernihiv and Nizhyn celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Vinnytsia Convent of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The hierarchs were concelebrated by clergy of the Vinnytsia-Bar Diocese. The liturgy was held in the church, which is dedicated in honour of the Monk Makarius. This day is special for the convent not only because of the patronal feast, but also because one of the main shrines of the monastery is the copy of the Vinnitska Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos.
During the service, prayers were offered for Ukrainian defenders and Ukraine's victory.
After the Liturgy and the festive prayer service, Metropolitan Symeon addressed the congregation with an archpastoral sermon and congratulated Abbess Yelikonida, the sisters of the monastery and the parishioners on the Patronal Feast of the church.
