Priest takes part in commemoration of those killed in Russian attack on Vinnytsia two years ago

On July 14, 2024, a commemoration of the victims of the Russian attack on Vinnytsia two years ago was held in Vinnytsia. With the blessing of Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar, the commemorative events were attended by the Abbot of the Holy Ascension Monastery, Archimandrite Sofroniy (Chupryna). The priest read a prayer for the repose of the souls of those innocently killed by the Russian Federation.

After that, flowers were laid at the memorial stele. The flowers were laid by relatives of the victims, regional and city officials, and members of the public. Archimandrite Sofroniy also laid a bouquet at the memorial stele.

On the same day, in the morning, Metropolitan Symeon and the clergy performed a funeral prayer during the Liturgy at the Transfiguration Cathedral.

Reference: On July 14, 2022, the Russians launched a cruise missile attack on Vinnytsia. The attack killed 29 people and injured more than a hundred. About 40 cars burned down. More than 50 buildings were damaged.
