Solemn service in the Cathedral on the Feast of the Dedication of the Holy Virgin

On November 21, 2024, on the Feast of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos, a festive Divine Liturgy was held at the Transfiguration Cathedral in Vinnytsia. The service was led by Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar in concelebration with Archpriest Vitaliy Goloskevych, Archpriest Viacheslav Budanevych, Archpriest John Drozd, Archpriest Dymytriy Pylyny, Archdeacon Vladyslav Demchenko and Archdeacon Serhiy Boyarsky.

After reading the Holy Gospel, Metropolitan Symeon addressed the audience with a sermon in which he spoke about the history and spiritual significance of the Feast.

During the Liturgy, a prayer was offered for the victory of Ukraine.

After the Liturgy, Metropolitan Symeon, with the blessing of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, awarded the medal "For Sacrifice and Love for Ukraine" to Nun Elizabeth (Petruk) for her inner work for the glory of God and the good of people and on the occasion of her 75th birthday. For a long time, Nun Yelyzaveta was an active parishioner and member of the Parish Assembly of the Transfiguration Cathedral, and since the foundation of the Vinnytsia Annunciation Convent, she has been its nun. Despite her venerable age, Nun Yelizaveta continues to perform her obedience both in the Monastery and in the Cathedral.

Finally, the Archpastor congratulated the faithful on the holiday, wishing them God's blessing and the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
