On May 19, 2024, on the 3rd Sunday after Easter, the Feast of the Holy Myrrh-Bearing Women, Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar and Archbishop Matthew of Volodymyr and Novovolynsk celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Stavropegial Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Novovolynsk, Volyn region. The hierarchs were concelebrated by the Rector of the church, Archpriest Oleksandr Horevych, and the local clergy.
During the Liturgy, prayers were offered for the victory of Ukraine and a just peace.
After the Liturgy and the procession around the church, Metropolitan Symeon thanked Archbishop Matthew for the joint prayer. Metropolitan Symeon also congratulated the faithful on the feast of Easter, and especially the women parishioners on the feast of the Myrrh-Bearers. The Archpastor wished women the same zealous faith, sacrificial love and selfless service to the Lord that the Myrrh-Bearers had.
With the blessing of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine, on the occasion of his 45th birthday, Metropolitan Symeon awarded the Rector of the church, Archpriest Oleksandr Horevych, with the Order of St. Michael the Archangel. In conclusion, Father Oleksandr thanked the hierarchs for the Archpastoral visit and prayerful support of the parish.
