On December 5, 2024, on the International Volunteer Day, the Transfiguration Cathedral of Vinnytsia hosted an award ceremony for volunteers, volunteer organizations, institutions and communities that are actively engaged in volunteer activities, support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and provide assistance to people temporarily displaced from the occupied territories. On behalf of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar thanked the volunteers and presented them with church awards - medals and blessed certificates "for their sacrificial service to preserve God's gift of freedom and independence of Ukraine."
