Metropolitan Symeon takes part in a solemn service at St Theodosius Stavropegial Monastery in Kyiv

On the 12th Sunday after Pentecost and on the feast of the transfer of the relics of St Theodosius of the Caves, 27 August 2023, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine led the Divine Liturgy at St Theodosius Stavropegial Monastery of Kyiv. The Primate of the autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church was concelebrated by Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar, Metropolitan Nestor of Ternopil and Kremenets, Archbishop Lavrentiy of Luhansk and Starobilsk, Archbishop Agapit of Vyshhorod, the abbot of the monastery, Archimandrite Makariy, the monastery brethren and invited clergy.

After reading the Gospel, His Beatitude delivered the primatial sermon and offered a special prayer to the Lord at a time when the Motherland is in danger.

During the service, prayer requests were also made for the soldiers defending Ukraine, for the authorities and our people, and for the repose of the souls of all the fallen defenders of the Motherland and civilians.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, a solemn procession around the church was held, after which the Primate awarded the defenders of Ukraine, volunteers and benefactors with church awards.
