On Sunday, August 28, 2022, on the day of the Feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar celebrated the festive Divine Liturgy in the Transfiguration Cathedral in Vinnytsia. During the Liturgy, the prayers were offered for the victory of the Ukrainian army and a just peace in Ukraine. A large number of parishioners of the cathedral, who came to pray at the festive service, took Holy Commmunion this day.
After the Gospel reading, Metropolitan Symeon gave a sermon about the necessity and value of appealing wholeheartedly to the Holy Mother of God, who is the Mother of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as well as the Heavenly Mother and Intercessor for all mankind.
Upon the completion of the Liturgy, a prayer was held in front of the burial shroud of the Most Holy Theotokos, followed by a special prayer service for the beginning of the new school year performed by Metropolitan Symeon. The Archpastor blessed with holy water the students who came to the cathedral to ask for a blessing for good studies.
