Metropolitan Symeon concelebrates with Primate of the OCU in Khmelnytsky

On the 19th Sunday after Pentecost, October 15, 2023, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine led the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Protection of the Holy Theotokos in Khmelnytsky. This is reported by the official website of the OCU.

The Primate of the Autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church was concelebrated by Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar, Metropolitan Dymytriy of Lviv and Sokal, Metropolitan Yevstratiy of Bila Tserkva, Archbishop Agapit of Vyshhorod, Bishop Mark of Dunayevets, Bishop Paisiy of Zhytomyr and Ovruch, Bishop Pavlo of Khmelnytsky and Kamyanets-Podilsky, Bishop Anthony of Chernihiv and Nizhyn, and local and visiting clergy.

The service was attended by representatives of local authorities and numerous believers.

After reading the Gospel, His Beatitude delivered a sermon and offered a special prayer to the Lord at a time when the Motherland is in danger.

Also during the service, prayer requests were made for the soldiers who are defending Ukraine, for the government and our people, and for the repose of the souls of all the fallen defenders of the Motherland and civilians who died during the war.

At the end of the service, Metropolitan Epiphanius once again addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of unity in his local Ukrainian Orthodox Church, presented the head of the diocese with a panagia as a prayerful remembrance, and awarded the benefactors with church awards.

In turn, Bishop Pavlo thanked the Primate for his archpastoral visit and sincere and unifying prayer.
