Metropolitan Symeon took part in a regular meeting of the Holy Synod

On May 10, 2024, a regular meeting of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Orthodox Church of Ukraine) was held in the Synodal Hall of the Metropolitan's House, the residence of the Primate of the Orthodox Church at St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral. The meeting was attended by Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar. This is reported by the official website of the OCU.

The Holy Synod heard a report of the Primate, Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine, on his visit to Geneva (Switzerland) on April 10, 2024, and meetings held at the World Council of Churches, the Ecumenical Institute in Bossa and the Stauropegic Center of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Chambesy.

At the suggestion of the Synodal Calendar Commission, a blessing was granted for a local commemoration in the Kyiv Diocese on July 16, the day after the feast of Prince Volodymyr, the Council of Kyivan Saints.

On the proposal of Metropolitan Andriy of Halych, head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Diocese, and Archbishop Herman of Kamianets-Podilskyi and Novoushytskyi, the synod granted a blessing to open men's monasteries in these dioceses and appointed their heads.

The Synod clarified the address of the Poltava Diocesan Administration and blessed the corresponding changes to its charter.
The next Hierarchical Council is scheduled to be held on May 11, 2024, in Kyiv in the Refectory Church of the Pechersk Holy Dormition Lavra with the following agenda:
- Report of the Primate on the life of the Local Church for the period after the Local Council of July 27, 2023;

- Approval of the conciliar condemnation of the heretical doctrine of the "Russian world" and its main propagandists;

- Approval of the decisions of the Holy Synod of the UOC (OCU) for the previous period since the Local Council of July 27, 2023, and the decisions arising from them.

The Synod also discussed draft documents to be submitted to the Council of Hierarchs and recommended them for adoption.

After a detailed discussion, the Holy Synod approved all decisions unanimously.
