On August 19, 2022, on the Day of the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, a festive late Divine Liturgy was performed in the Transfiguration Cathedral of the city of Vinnytsia. The solemn Divine Service was presided by the Rector of the Cathedral, His Eminence Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar in conjunction with the priests of the Cathedral, as well as the guests with holy orders.
The singing of the bishop’s and children’s and youth choirs emphasized the solemnity of the service.
During the Divine service, Metropolitan Symeon ordained deacon Tarasii Zadorozhny to the rank of priest.
After the end of the Liturgy and the Cross procession around the church, the Archbishop read prayers and sprinkled holy water on the grapes and fruits, which, according to tradition, are consecrated on this day.
Metropolitan Symeon delivered a sermon and congratulated his congregation on the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord which is currently the Feast Day of the Cathedral of Vinnytsia and Bar Diocese of the OCU. On behalf of the clergy and parishioners, archpriest Vitaly Holoskevych, the sacristan of the Сathedral, gave a welcome speech to the Archpastor. At the end, the bishop's and children's and youth choirs congratulated their Metropolitan and all the parishioners on the Cathedral Feast Day.
On this day, early and late Hierarchical Divine Liturgies were performed in the Cathedral.
